Suggested road trip supplies

Gents, going to be going on about 3000 mile road trip from here to Omaha, then down to Dallas/Houston, and back up here. Will be hauling a car on trailer (~6k total) for the first leg, about 1k in the bed for the rest of the way.

Currently, was planning to take the following:

2 CPS's (one for anyone on the side of the road, one for self)
1 gal engine oil (T6 5-40)
1 gal coolant
air compressor
1 qt trans fluid
spare serpentine belt
AE
gray diesel kleen
spare headlight bulb
extra fuses
full suite of hand tools, obviously

Anything else you guys suggest or something I might be overlooking?

Spare fuel filter. Spare air filter? If you have room (you mentioned air compressor), take a floor jack with you too. I'd rather have that than the compressor.

I try and take at least one hot chick if I can.

but alas its usally just me. lol

I always take a sleeping bag in case of a night out with no hotel. but I noramlly travel alone so its easier than having a group.

water, snacks etc of course

good spare tires for truck AND trailer

tools are good, but make sure you have in your stash a breaker bar for the serpentin belt and a 10mm socket for your CPS

I don't know if you have a navigation system or not but a back up gps ( I use my smartphone but the signal varies from place to place, loses it completely at times, like today) and a good road map.

Flashlights, cash, gun.

Assuming you've replaced your HPO lines as maintenance items, bring along the old ones for the guy on the side of the road at the end of the oil trail.

Also, spare fuel pump and fuel filter.

Water!!! It gets real hot down here from late may-sept. I would bring a gallon at least. That should get you through changing a tire on the side of the road when it's over 100 degrees

Don't forget an extension cord or something to plug your truck in somewhere if you head up somewhere cold. ( Im sorry for posting about the Ether, I edited it out :P although I have seen a few guys shooting Ether into the 6.0 in a Northern Michigan Blizzard while at a truck stop, must've been some schmucks though lol)

Unless you have a mechanism for disabling the glow plugs and the AIH, NEVER use ether starting fluid in a Powerstroke!

It can do a lot of damage in a VERY short time!
