So made a little journey to get a truck and a couple engines.
Ran out of time or could have probably picked up at least another couple more or half a dozen flatheads! 4 Stops, 5 flatheads and a ch*^y v8 265 and a 51 COE
I'm still recovering from lack of sleep and sitting on my arss while driving but still managed to take the kids skiing yesterday. haven't unloaded anything yet though.
here are a couple pics
Had another flathead in bed of truck (not pictured)
Note to Self, Next time when picking up a truck in the middle of the night, "Don't let the intoxicated man run the winch controller"
My gosh, man, where do you find all this stuff? You put the rest of us scroungers to shame, and seem to do it with regularity. Is the COE a keeper, or an RPU (revenue producing unit)? Stu
Edit - were the 22.5s on it, or did you pull them from inventory? Stu
its for RPU. wife had surgery earlier this month so without her working for a bit and other bills stacking up it will be unfortunatly neccesary to move it along.
the truck has a 289 mated to the original T-98 synchro trans. the wheels were on it, I probably wouldnt have picked it up if it hadnt been for the wheels.
That COE looks nice enough to save, at first appearance. IMO, the 289 would still leave a bit to be desired in the power department. I like the way someone wound that winch in. Nice haul. I guess the wheels will go quickly.
Whoa! major bummer on that winch cable. While frosty beverages can be a real help in the whole negotiating part of a deal sometimes they are not so much of a help on the loading up after the deal was made.....lol
Sure thing!
Sad thing is that most of them are probably cracked blocks somewhere or another. the orange one has both heads cracked (probably had water in it) so I'm almost certain that one is toast, But it has adjustable lifters in it so I'll be just fine either way on that one. now the fun of tearing into them to see what I've got.
Yes Winter was here over the weekend, (probably only because I decided on that weekend for a road trip though!)
Speaking of scrounging around, I found something else a few weeks back that would be cool to have,
Maybe to drive in local parades and have a sign on it that says "We will sweep up your unwanted old ford trucks for cash" or something to that effect?
My wife tolerates the trucks to a point but I think she just might draw the line with a sweeper if I brought that home though?? Should I test the line?? hahaha
I'm jealous. It's been a few years since I've been able to make a haul rivaling that one. With my friend's large body shop being closed, I no longer have the ample amount of space to store all of my hauls.
However, my friend (also a fellow FTE'er) and I are picking up these F1 parts this weekend. They'll be RPUs, as Stu calls them. Since I'm out of room, we'll be utilizing the space he has available to store these parts until they're sold off.
