I think he was talking about the air dam that bolts onto the bottom of the bumper.
I have to admit, I don't care much for chrome ether, but on these trucks it looks good. So, long as you don't get too carried away...

I'd have to see what he's taking about. I love the chrome on these trucks. So much that I don't even want black wheels like I always do.

Right or left? If its the one on the left, I'll pass. I'm not paying that much.

I still like the idea of something behind the grill if I can figure out what will give me the most visibility.

Jarryd, the lightning valence is both actually, the ones with slots cut into them.

Partsgeek.com sells the exact same part for like $40 SHIPPED...

I've bought 2 from that company and with minor trimming of excess plastic flashing, they fit just fine.

From Partsgeek.com, they list them as having "Tow hook holes" instead of being a "Lightning" part.

Just a heads up...All the business I've conducted with PG.com has been within 5 business days of my order being placed, that I'm getting a box on my doorstep.

For $40 shipped, I could swing that. Then I'll just have to throw some nice lenses in there and wire it up. That plus the headlight upgrade should put me where I want to be.

The bumper shown in the 1st pic is NOT a diesel bumper.
It came on all xlt trucks from 94-97

Funny, my 95 XLT has no holes...
Maybe the 350. But not too accustomed to them.

The bumper was standard issue on all diesels except the FSuperDuty and was also included on the Lariat trucks, optional on the XLTs iirc.

Just a couple of thoughts:

The RJM harness is a much better quality unit than the LMC harness. It's a little more money, but if you're going to do it, may as well get good quality. RJM Injection Tech — Headlight Harness

Also, I've had horrible experiences with SilverStar bulbs. They suck in the rain/fog, and in recent years it seems as though they blow out fast. I've had much better luck with Sylvania's Xtravision bulbs, and most recently GE Nighthawk bulbs.

The HOLE bumper has been on EVERY XLT truck from 94-97 I have owned(30+), diesel or not. And as for an "option" I have the window sticker for my 96 and it is not on the options

Ford parts describe the bumper with holes as the diesel bumper, here the bumper moldings show a different part number from the solid bumper.

Bumper, Front, Diesel, with Air hole, 92-97
(Ford) F3TZ-17757-AB
Bumper Strip, Front Center, Diesel, 92-97
(Ford) F3TZ-17K833-K
Bumper Strip, Front Outer Left, Diesel, 92-97
(Ford) F3TZ-17K833-J
Bumper Strip, Front Outer Right, Diesel, 92-97
(Ford) F3TZ-17K833-H
