I did on my truck for a short period of time. My mileage suffered considerably. It sounds good, but drones like crazy at around 2k rpm. I've heard that the turbo creates enough back pressure for the engine but I don't know how true that is.

Try with an elbow on the turbo pointing straight up through the hood.
