I am loosing my cluster, power windows and radio intermittently. I have this code which I found in the bible and it says -
U0155 Lost Communication with Instrument Cluster l
Then the "l" says to -
l Refer to the Workshop Manual Section 418 for diagnostic procedures.
Has anybody ran across this before, have the section 418 on PDF or a starting point for me?
My truck has also just started, this morning, surging while driving, not idling. First thing is first though, let's start with the code.

I have this same code and am also having surging on rare occasion... I had a code before for the fuel sending unit as well but the code is not back...
I just replaced the fuse box yesterday as I researched and found that if the fuse box is bad it could impact both the instrument cluster and the power to the pcm controlling the fuel pump. - solved no issues. Let me know if you have these problems as well: when the cluster goes dead; the power windows, locks, and radio is dead as well...
I have read that the instrument cluster must be replaced as it is not serviceable. I purchased one off ebay for $165 and hope to have it in the truck in the next few days.. hope this solves my bugs - I can keep you posted if you wish.
I have put over $5000 in it in the last 12,000 miles not including all around tires and complete brakes (rotors/pads/couple calipers), CV joint, ball joint, etc...
When goes down you should ohm out the terminating resisters. If you have 120ohm you have lost comm with either the pcm or cluster. Disconnect one of the and recheck resister value. If the check fails check for power and ground then ohm out hs can from the failed part to the dlc.

Ez, if your a mechanic... I can change a part, but diagnostics is a total fail for me,.....

Being terminating resistors you would have one in the pcm and one in the ic. This is why you check them at the dlc. Iirc pins 6 and 13. They are 120ohm in parallel. So if both pcm and ic are on line you have 60 ohms, if both are off line you have 0, if only one is on line you have 120 ohms.
Sorry if this isnt very clear.
