460 Intake/Carb questions

I am wanting to swap to a squarebore pattern carb on my 2wd 76 F250 with a 460. It has the beloved Motorcraft 4350 spreadbore carb. I have a bunch of different options I could go with.

I have two different carbs sitting on the shelf with fresh rebuild kits in them.
Road Demon Jr. 625
Autolite 4100 (1.12)

As for the intake, I woiuld love to drop on a new Weiand Stealth, but it runs a couple hundred bucks... Still not bad for a new intake.

1.) Order the Trans-Dapt adapter from the 4350 pattern to the squarebore. (more money, less time)
2.) Make my own adapter to do the same thing. (less money, more time)
3.) Drop on a used factory manifold.
4.) Bite the bullet, get the Weiand and don't look back.

The trick is, this truck will be sold within the next couple years. I hate to dump money into it since I will be selling it, but it will be more reliable and more fun to drive with this change.

Just looking for some opinions (Yes, I know what those are like...)

Thanks

Point taken.

I won't have a choice once my 4x4 is done and on the road.

If I lived somewhere that had the storage to keep it, I probably would have saved a few more...

I am sure you are dealing with a bit more property as well... My little 0.20 acre with an undersized garage and driveway barely big enough to get two full sized vehicles in.

If I find one used, it'll have to be local.

I have found a factory iron one local, it is cheap, but very rusty inside the plenum and runners.

Sure, straight trade for $2500. Heck, I can even deliver it, I know where you live.

Did you ever install that tilt column?

On the factory intake if you have it tanked it should get rid of the rust as long is it's not pitted on the inside .. Other than weight the factory intake is just fine

That's what I was thinking. I just have to call a couple machine shops and see what they charge to hot tank an intake manifold.
