Got my heads back!

Found these Gt40P's in the J/Y and due to a sale got them for free... More or less. No I didnt steal them. Anyway I had a buddy recondition them. It cost about $200.

This included new intake valves, resurfaced the deck and valve seats, new valve seals, heli-coiled a couple threads, magnafluxed for cracks, & polished the exhaust valves. They are bolt on ready but I am going to paint Ford Blue.

All in all I am happy with these. Saved me a few bucks as well as the other shop was quoting $250 - $300 for the same thing. Took less than a week as well.

If anyone is ever needing a set of heads redone, PM me. I will give you his info. He said the $200 is typical for most 2 valve v8's. So your 4 valve v12 Ferrari heads will be more. 4 bangers a little less.

Shipping will have to be considered but if your not to far from Medford, Oregon its not a big deal. I am down by Sacramento and sent them up with my visiting in-laws; he just brought them by on his way to Mexico. Point being is the western seaboard is well travelled by us. PM me and we will figure something out.

Its basically a stock rebuild of a 98 exploder 302. Its been decked & bored 0.030 over but other than that its stock internally. It will be running 3" water jacketed manifolds dumping through about 2' of the same sized exhaust. On top it will be running a 2bbl Holley that is rates at 500cfm.

This is going into a boat replacing a 74 Mercruiser (Ford) 302 that was rated at 188 hp. The new motor being rated at 215hp and 288 ft lbs tq. I figure open exhaust should bump this up a little more. That should be upward of a 30 hp bump. Smooth reliable efficient power. I could have gone more but I am not certain what the outboard can handle so I am leaving it at a modest gain..
