Not specifically. Henry started with the A and went up alphabetically until the T, his 20th design (not all were produced). Then he started over with A. There was also a Model B, briefly, in '32, and I think there was a C engine. But when the V8 engine came out (in late '32?) the car was renamed the Ford V8.

Interesting. It would be nice to see some sketches of those not produced.

Thank you for sharing. As a 30 - something Jeeper, I can tell you they still suck to ride in for long trips, and their leg room in the back is nothing to brag about. I've been asked a few times why I trail my 'nothing special' Jeep to the trails... and it's all about comfort...

Back when I had my '95 F-150 I actually got about the same mileage (10~11 mpg) flat-towing the Jeep behind the pickup as I did driving the Jeep. I guess 3.55 gears and an overdrive trans will beat 4.27 gears with no overdrive when it comes to gas mileage! The truck got worse mileage when it was also carrying the camper. But if I didn't need the camper I could drive the Jeep and get beat up, or tow it and be comfortable, all for the same gas bill!

My Bronco gets better mileage than the Jeep (~13 mpg), and my 460 powered F-250 with 4.10 gears gets worse mileage than the F-150 (8~9 mpg towing the Bronco), so now I need to burn more gas to be comfortable. But as I said, the Bronco isn't too bad, so I usually drive it unless I need the camper (which is a 28' motorhome these days)

I had it for 13 years and 183,000 miles (that included the two years I drove it to work when I was an engineer with General Motors!). By that time it was pretty rusty (Minnesota), had stranded me twice and my family had outgrown the standard cab.

.

What size tires are those on your '85 truck? That is exactly what I am going for. Tall and skinny with a reasonable tread. They look perfect.

Tall and skinny, that is how I like women.

Those were LT255/85-16 BFG Mud-Terrains (the original Mud-Terrain, 1984 was before they came out with the Mud-Terrain KM). That's 33" tall, 10" wide. Unfortunately BFG had discontinued that tire in that size a few later when those wore out so I ended up switching back to the stock LT235/85-16 (31.7" x 9.25") for the rest of the time I owned the truck.
