Replacing F-150

My final question in the quest for a new vehicle to replace my F-150, at the age of 18 would it be better to buy an Explorer or an F-250/350 with a PSD?

The biggest thing is to get what you need and what you can afford. I have an Explorer and a F-350 PSD, and they are both good vehicles, but I absolutely love that truck and wouldn't trade it for a brand new Explorer. Don't get me wrong, the Explorer is an excellent vehicle. My wife drives our Explorer daily, and she likes it, and when she is happy, the world is a peaceful place.........

Me thinks that you might want to sit down and really determine what you need in a vehicle and then choose whichever vehicle meets your varied needs the best. You are asking which taste better apples or oranges, instead of which apple is the best eating apple.
Good luck in your decision.
