Upon my maiden voyage with my new to me 87 f250 carb'd 460 one of the smog pumps seized. Taking a closer look, someone attempted a halfassed hillbilly smog delete. I finished the job figuring it was less of a headache than replacing the pump and figuring out what was done to this thing.
Can someone shed some light on my next steps? From what I'm reading, it's going to run lean and this carb can't be adjusted. So should I get a new carb? Which would be best? I've searched this site, I'm more confused than when I started. I just want this thing to function for what I need it to do, which is hauling 1k gallons of water every couple months.
I'd prefer a reliable carb that doesn't need to be constantly fiddled with. Something like a bolt on and go application. Also I would prefer a manual choke. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
