engine perfoemance

hi i have 1997 f 350 7.3 powerstroke i have a banks inercooler kit on it and a dp tuner f5 tuner on it with tunes tow 40hp, tow 80hp,120hp race, 80 hp econo and 140 extreme, has asle ratio 3.55 with 35s on it for tires i drive it on 80 hp econo usually and averge 11-13mpg is there way to up my fuel milege and also obtain moore hp? i dont no much about diesel performance and was looking to find some infromation on how to improve the overal all milege and perfomeance of my truck thanks luke.

I would say the major cause for suffering fuel mileage is the overall mechanical condition of the truck. Things such as hung up brakes, improperly inflated tires, a clogged EBP sensor/tube, worn injectors, boost leaks, etc., will play a major role in fuel mileage. I am sure once you start going through everything and fixing what is wrong or broken, you will find better fuel mileage at the end of the tunnel.

Also, bigger tires never help with mileage.

i just read about the clogged tube problem im not getting an engine light but ive never cleaned the ebp tube or sensor before and its got 138xxx miles on it is there away to tell if its pluged?

I've heard both sides of the story on this one and I"m not sure on the actual effect yet.

but anyways.
it doesn't hurt to clean it. to check it you have to take it off.

Sometimes they get cracked and they just cause a boost leak.

pluged my scanner into my truck and sure enough i got a code for ebp low so i pulled the sensor and its packed full of suit so im gonna fix that first let me no on any other advise thanks!
