I have a 86 f250 6.9idi 4x4 and it has a c6 auto and I was wondering does the 6.9 have the same imput diameter as the small v8 Ford motor. I have a t18 from a 78 f150 and was wondering if the tranny would fit the 6.9

I don't know the answer to that but I do know that the t-19 is a bit beefier than the gasser 4speed. When you lug a diesel it beets the hell out of trannys. Most of the time when people put like a 4 banger cummins in a ranger and use the ranger tranny it doesn't last long so I'd imagine the same for your situation. Sale the gasser tranny and get a diesel one would be my advice just to avoid problems down the road.

You talkin about the pilot bearing inside diameter? :)
If so, they are the same they're 17mm (.6733").
Outside diameter of the splines can vary tho 1+1/16" for the T18 and
Rockauto.com sez your truck too if it had a ZF in it.
Some Fords can be 1+1/4", have no idea which ones, just ran across
that fact in my reading is all. xD
