I'm looking at redoing the interior on my 97 F350 7.3 super cab dually. Factory colors are grey carpet and cloth seats, both are looking pretty dingy, although no rips. I'm thinking I'd go with dark green to go with the dark tourmaline exterior, plus it would hide dirt and stains better.
Internet search shows molded carpets are available from numerous of places, for around $140. Anybody have recommended vendors? Installation war stories? Gotchas to watch out for? Brands or vendors to stay away from? Is the more expensive "mass backing" premium worth it? Does it make $$ sense to redo the acoustic insulation layers as well?
I also have looked at "custom" seat covers online, but I think I would just as soon pay a local shop to redo the seats using the existing cloth as the pattern. If you've had this done, how much did it run you?
I had the bench seat in my regular cab redone last year and it was about 350. For my super cab im going to take out the carpet and put down the rubber mat style in. Also going to put in some kind of insulation under the stock stuff. For seat covers i want to get some from marathon seat covers.

The good shops are usually REALLY busy so if you don't have to get on a waiting list you might question the quality of the work you will get. There's a shop here and he gets so much business you almost have to know somebody who knows somebody to get him to do anything for you. Calling around now and seeing who has a waiting list might be something to look for.
