advice on rebuilders
hi
i lost my L '99 7.3 last night to a spun bearing. It happened suddenly and without warning on a slow city street.
after doing some research on both internet and local builders for a long block, i am surprised to find the large number of unhappy patrons that bought local.
what is the consensus for blackwater? their prices and warranty look attractive.

What prices are you seeing? Clay at Riffraff Diesel can get long blocks more affordable than rebuilds usually.

The range seems to be from about $3200 to about $4400. From what I have read and peeps I have spoken to who went the long block route, from many different venders, this is anything but a slam dunk.
It seems a sad percentage had issues and some had trouble getting satisfaction on their problems.
