There are specific parts for the six banger vs the V8 according to the image below. The Z-bar appears to be the same.. but the engine-side pivot screws into a boss on the engine.
I don't know how though?! I looked on bronco graveyard and they have a separate assembly. My current in is too short. I have the pivot ball already but somethin ain't right
Hmmm.. the frame-side bracket has some inboard/outboard adjustability. How far are you off????
Are you referring to JBG's clutch linkage diagram? It looks like they took the factory diagram and erased all the PNs. There are three different pivots shown - the lone pivot (which I assume to be for the I-6, and the latter appear to be for an FE bracket (mounts on the front face of the engine/trans flange), and the 351M400 which mounts on the backside of the bellhousing.
It's just odd. It seems like it needs to adjust inwards cuz I can easily slip the assembly off. Yes its just the pivot ball mounted to the side of the engine block and the bracket on the frame rail..just wonder if the 6 takes a longer arm?
I searched the number. The one I have has the little ball end on it. It poolslike the 7a535 is just a shaft. Does it have a bushing? Cuz if its longer that could solve my problem
looks like there are bushings/spacers between the z-arm and where the pivot piece attach.
Do you have those? I can't tell from the pic if there is a bushing the actual pivot rids in though. I can't see one on my truck from topside and can't get under it currently.
Maybe someone with a bit more knowledge will speak up.
The only difference I see in the diagram is the i6 uses a pivot stud that mounts into the motor that it pivots on, and the v8 has a bracket with a pin that it pivots on.
Give me a few minutes and I can double check the MPC
I'm not sure which type of stud I got. It's ALL metal..not bushing. With a half round ball at the end. Could be the 302 one? I believe I gotta get another one oy. My bad. And sorry for posing on two threads..just wanting to get all views! :

Thanks again for the clarification ND.
I have been trying to use the illustrations as reference to get the PNs from the text section.
This can be made even more difficult when you don't know the proper names for items being looked up.
I wish the DVD version of the MPC was a searchable PDF.
I am not trying to steer anyone wrong, just trying to help.
