Idle Problems On 98 Eb
IVE OWNED THIS EB FOR 2 YEARS AND JUST NOW HAVING MY FIRST PROBLEM. I'D LIKE TO FIX IT MYSELF IF IT'S A MINOR PROBLEM. DOES ANYONE HAVE IN SUGGUESTIONS ABOUT WHAT THE PROBLEM MIGHT BE. IT'S OCCURED 4 TIMES NOW IN THE PAST 2 WEEKS. THE ENGINE WILL DIE RIGHT AFTER IT'S STARTED. TO GET IT RUNNING, I WILL HAVE TO PRESS IN THE GAS EVER SO SLIGHTLY AS I START IT AND LET IT RUN LIKE THAT FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS. THEN IT IS FINE. LIKE I SAID, IT'S ONLY DONE IT BOUT 4 TIMES. A FRIEND OF MINE HAS A 99 EXPY AND WAS HAVING A REAL SIMILAR PROMLEM. SHE TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND PAID $200 TO REPLACE AN IDLE AIR CONTROL.( SOUNDS LIKE AN OXYGEN SENSOR TO ME..... IF IT'S NOT TOO INVOLVED , I CAN USUALLY FIX THINGS OF THAT NATURE...... ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS ?.... THANKS IN ADVANCE...

First off a little tip. Typing with CAPSLOCK on is considered shouting and it a pain to read
It sounds to me like your IAC is on it's last legs.
I would probably stop by your dealer and pick one up to try it. It has one connector and 2 screws that hold it on. Once you pull the black plastic cover ( 3 screws) off over the throttle body you'll see the IAC right there.
