I have a T-3 headlight that I am going to sell on eBay. I think I got it from a 53-56 truck somewhere along the way when I was searching for parts for my truck 14 years ago. After some research I see that many cars of various makes used those for several years.
How do I know what cars and trucks and what years this headlight fits if it fit a 53 to56 Ford truck?
1940/54: 09A-13007 FORD raised block letters moulded into glass at bottom of the headlight bulb / 1955 6V B5A-13007-A & 1956/59 12V B6A-13007-A Ford script etched into glass at center of headlight bulb are desireable.
What's a headlamp bulb marked T-3? AFAIK, aftermarket. T = Tungsten, 3 is the application.
T-3 headlamps, made by Guide, are a common GM feature. They were used on all of their cars going way back. Here's a really old forum link from the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) forum discussing them.
Guide a division of GM. Guide marked on dashboard mounted Autronic Eyes optional on some 1952/56 cars. Guide moulded into glass/plastic park and tail lamp lenses.
If T-3 is 12V with single headlamps, it's bulb industry number 6012 .. has three prongs, will fit any automakers single headlamp vehicle, not just Generous Motors.

Don't blame you for trying to sell on Ebay. I'm going to clean out the garage when I get back to NY
How do I know if it is a 6 or 12 volt? I tested it on my 54 's 6 volt battery and it worked great both low and high beam. What would happen if it were 6 volt and I tested on a 12 volt battery? I don't want to blow the bulb.

Generally speaking, six volt lights have trouble working very long on twelve volts. Don't try it. If it is bright at six volts, leave well enough alone. Compare it to what is on your truck for brightness.
Edit: Have you looked for a light stamp mark on the rear side of the bulb?
