Of course this could be an issue in some of the drier climates.
I would run it through one of the super filters before I put it into a battery..

"OK Now that for the most part works great... BUT!! In some cities, like I believe in Aurora, CO ... You will actually get fined for collecting rain water. The city feels that you are taking away from them so if they see a rain water collection system...they write ya up for it, Dorks."
And I thought San Jose Water Works was out of hand making people shut down their own wells that had been in operation years before THEY even existed!!

That is by far the most retarded thing I have ever heard of. I catch rainwater for my hot tub. It's way easier to balance than my well water.

We are in the era of "retarded"...it is the new norm, The Brave New World. Get used to it. I think I will fink you out for rainwater harvesting .

Y'all need to expand your horizons outside the 7.3L forum!

Cascade has used by the six-liter guys for years.

Just curious... If I try this, how much cascade should I pour in for the flush? Are we talking a tablespoon or a couple cups?

I'd do a quick search in the 6.0L forum to see how much they're using.

I lived in Spokane Washington for several years and there was an article in the newspaper that stated the rain water was a natural resource and belong to the state. Anyone caught collecting rain water would be fined.
After reading, my thought was WTF. The state even has fees for using the trailheads for hiking. Anyone caught at trailhead parking without a permit is ticketed with a fine...Well I said..back to Nevada...

Strange to hear the stories of regs to NOT allow you to collect rain water. North of the border(BC) is just the exact opposite, they encourge you to collect rain water, less demand on the resevoirs in the summer. There are lots of companies selling rain water collection systems up here.

Illegal to catch rain water? Serious? So every person that owns an outdoor pool or leaves a bucket outside can get a ticket?

We used to use Calgon bath beads in the bowties when green coolant got mixed with the orange. The mix would result in electrolysis in the cooling system and the heater core was usually the first item to let loose. One poor guy had 3 heater cores put in before he brought it in to find out why.

Used to use it all the time when oil coolers failed and leaked into cooling system on cat equipment. Usually took a few times to get all gunk out of cooling system. Cascade is used because it does not foam.

All I have at my house in WV is rain water. It collects in an in ground tank, and then I pump it up to the tank on the hill which gives me water pressure. WV is a cool state. Just this month the legislature adopted the Halls breach loading rifle made at Harpers Ferry the official state weapon.
