Why do I look at pictures like this? Makes me want to
Why would someone do this to a beautiful grille, then try to sell the truck.
It's a 1967 grille that someone wanted to resemble a 1969 Ranger grille. So, added a 1968/69 Ranger emblem, then painted the horizontal bar on either side of it red.
that looked so out of place I thought it was photoshoped.
Everyone has their own taste I guess. Luckily most things are easily changed back.
Can you weld aluminum? Especially this thin aluminum grille? Remember that Ranger emblem has tWo prongs that need to go through the grille bar to get fastened on the back. The 67 grille is not shaped like the 68 or 69 grille, so the emblem does not fit right. Up close it looks, (In the famous word by Larry the Cable Guy "Stupid") So basically the grille shell is ruined. Once you weld those holes, the area where weld is, will raise up and give a small bump. Others would use it so I shouldn't say ruined. But for me and what I do, it's ruined.

Reason: spelling

I know a few people who could TIG it, but you would see it for sure as the AL color from the filler rod will be different. All the prep and buffing it would be a total loss $$$ wise. To save a .10¢ on my own crap, maybe LOL!!
It might be sacrilege but I'd like to toss a 67-69 grill on my 71 just because the grill is cool as CHIT!
