I'm pulling off my cab of my 06 f250. Is there any short cuts that I should know about before I jump into this? I'm doing head studs, egr delete, coolant filter, stand pipes and dummy plugs, head gaskets and glow plugs. Anything else I should do while I have it off?
I'm not fighting with it hanging over the engine bay, dropping parts or tools and only having so much space to do this or that. I'll feel better knowing I got the heads torqued right with it off. Thanks for the heads up though, I appreciate it
What type of body configuration (ie crew cab, super cab or regular cab)? Manual or automatic? ESOF 4x4 or manual 4x4 or 4x2? Fog lights or no fog lights? The answer to those questions will determine the exact steps necessary for pulling the cab on your truck.
Okay, you'll have eight cab to frame fasteners in total. Three 24mm bolts, three 21mm bolts and two 18mm nuts (both very front beside the charge air cooler).
Other than your ususal ground straps, parking brake cable, shifter cable, three HCU brake lines, steering shaft and main battery positive cables, it's pretty straightforward.
