New guy radiator question

New guy radiator question

I would like to start by saying I'm new here and any help would b greatly appreciated I have an 02 f150 supercrew fx4 with the 5.4 liter when it was warm every once in a while I would get the cylinder head temp sensor over heat code and engine would go into limp mode replaced sensor and checked pig tail for any problems and none found truck still did it every once in a while thought I just had one of the trucks with this problem until it didnt do it all winter thinking the truck might b getting warm any body else have this problem thanks for any help

Have you considered the radiator may be blocked up in the bottom part reducing cooling capacity?
The sensor signals the PCM to reacts that way to save the motor.
In colder weather is may go away for awhile then return as the temps get warmer.
Overheating to many times in these motors is a no no.

We'll the funny thing is when it does it you turn the truck off and start it right back up and it runs fine back to normal so I didn't and the radiator is no warmer than when it is running normal

And yes I consider the radiator might b plugged I order a new one should b here before the weekend another thing I noticed the truck ran under temp all winter long I'm gonna replace thermostat when I replace radiator I was thinking maybe the thermostat is not working properly
