When i took out interior, i could have sworn the insulation on firewall was damp, even though truck had been in garage quite awhile. I'm planning on replacing windows rubbers (probably only thing ill let someone else do).
But that made me think, i better ask where all the known leak spots are.
Any ideas?
May have had leather gaskets around the wiper arm linkages that come through the cowling just in front of the windshield. If dried out or non exsistant it will leak there. Depending on how rusted out your truck was I have heard of water leaking in inside of this cowling as it has a tendency to trap dirt and crap that will hold moisture and cause rustout in this area. Check for pinhole rustout in this area.
If the insulation was wet was it all wet or pass side ? Heater core on pass side, would bleed out sitting when a seam failed. A leak in a barn roof, onto a cab with a tired set of glass seals...year after year......who knows...
