I have noticed that on the 1963 F-100's, the FORD lettering above the grille was located directly below two of the four openings. However, on the 1964 version it had spread out beneath all four.
I am asking because I am a stickler for originality and I am desperate to find out if the front of my truck is original.
It is a 1963 but resembles the lower image (including the lettering). I would have thought that if the grille was simply replaced that it would have the spacing of the letters on the above image and the grille of the lower one.
So, does anyone know if any F-100's left the factory in 1963 resembling the lower image? I have both grilles just not confident enough to commit to one yet.
Hmmmm, another interesting annomoly..I have a 64 upper valance...letters spead out like the pic...Ive got letters as well...Assuming the lower pic is your truck...you are missing the hood badge..
