I've been lurkin in the back ground reading all the posts here at the forum, first off you guys are the nicest bunch. It is almost like being at my Corvette forum C3 Vette Registry.Let me give you a little back ground on my truck, it was a wreck out of Pa.I bought from a wholesaler, put it all back together for my vacation out west this summer, needless to say it looks like a brand new 2006 inside and out. I still have a few little things to do to it and it will be better than new. (ie. all the bugs worked out ) It always had a miss from the time I put it on the road,I changed the oil and filter, fuel filters and coolant, all motorcraft, rotela t6 and elc coolant, 2 brand new batteries are in it and a 200 amp alt. All the specs I can check are good deltas ficm etc. I don't have the fuel pressure ck yet and I want to know how you find out the cylinder that has the miss in it (you can't feel it but you cant hear it especially if you get on it cause it has 4 " straight exhaust ) new to getting into these Ford 6.0 but not new to diesels Is there anyone that can set me straight thanks in advance ....Bill
Thanks for the video Chet but I don't think it's a mechanical problem ,it runs too smooth,I think it's an injector or a ficm problem ( the batteries were stone dead when I got the truck and they were using jump boxes to start it ) I'm thinking of pulling the FICM and opening it up to see what up inside, I've ck'd the harness and moved it around but nothing has changed

We my 2005 EX runs like a bat out of hell, but it miss's at idle and has a smoke problem that it never had before. I changed 4 injectors on the driver side. If I would have done the 30 second test in the first video I would have saved a lot of time knowing it was beyond injectors.
It takes no effort to do the test. Just make sure the key is in your pocket.
i did that test when I was putting the truck together, I think I'm going to do a compression test as soon as I can figure out how to do it on this 6.0 I have the diesel tools I just got to find out the right method
Ok here we go 02 7.3 330000. Miles has noise sound like ex leak, rock tap,or knock all depends on where u r in the throttle
Did compression test 400 psi across the board now here's the kicker if u mat it to the floor
The fuel pump don't keep up when it hit about 10 psi sound go away just driving has 80 psi
N u can see the fuel pressure gauge jump with the sound

Was your test a pass or fail or like the first or second video?
