...Weve had a couple of incidents here in the phoenix metro area of firetrucks actually pushing vehicles into cross traffic at red lights...theyre being argued by the insurance company now...
Speaking of rolling trucks, I rolled an Armored car into a median on I-40 once...kinda funny in retro spec...kinda scary when it happen...my partner got beaned in the head with a bag of quarters...approx 35 lbs...
The cops sure got a kick out of it though...fortunately no permanent injuries...
Sorry to hear about the truck. Glad to hear everyone was allright for the most part. Used to run volunteer for a rulal departmenm. i know what it like trying to get to the scence's down gravel roads, some just a little wider then the truck and full of soft spots that just throw the truck all over the place.
Be safe and Stay safe.
I let Tim (ABadDriver) take some pics of the truck with my digi camera, and I posted them on my site. THey're a little on the large side (~250K) and Tim's not a very good photographer. I think the truck can be salvaged, but the important part was no serious injuries... The driver suffered a few lacerations on his head I believe, but no others, luckily. This isn't the first time Co. 8 has had a truck outta service due to dumptrucks. If my memory serves me, their wagon went out of service for several weeks after being run off the road by a dumptruck, which destroyed part of the front suspension. At any rate, here's some picture of Engine 8 http://home.earthlink.net/~patrick687/engine8/
I've done a fair share of driving truck and I cuss at all the idiots that SHOULD NOT have the PRIVILAGE of a license. I can't stop like the little coffins on wheels. And guess who looses, its not me. And let me tip my hat to those who come rescue me. Thanks for being there.
