Rear End question
I have an extra 9 inch differential out of a 1968 F100. A guy wants to buy it from me and asked if it will fit a 1967 Mustang. He wants the entire rear end from brake drum to brake drum. Does NumberDummy or some other expert have any idea if the 68 F100 rear end will fit a 67' Mustang? I can make all sorts of guesses, but I am usually wrong. Thanks.

The center section only will fit, Mustang housing shorter than F100.
BUT, does the 1967 Mustang have an 8 or 9 inch? 200/289 = 8 inch / 390/427 = 9 inch.
8 & 9 inch look very similar!

Thanks as usual for your reply Number Dummy - you never fail me! I'll forward your info on to him and he can make his own decision. I don't know which rear end he has/had in the car but I suspect it was a 6 cyl car because he is making a "hot rod" and wants a "stronger" rear end. Looks to me that he will have to go elsewhere for a bolt-in rear end. If anyone in the Phoenix area wants a 9 inch from a 68 F100 I have one and need it gone soon (the "Boss" does not like it in the back yard).
