bendix steering box
About 5 years ago I put in a rebuilt bendix steering box in my 69 Ford F250 pickup. It worked absolutely perfect. Then the truck sat for 5 years. We started using the truck again, and the steering was good for awhile, then became extremely sloppy. The worm gear is adjusted correctly, and the power steering is fine, and bled. However, the sloppiness is increasing fast, and the truck is almost not driveable. I do not know how to adjust, or if there is an adjustment for the bearing. Any suggestions?

I no you probably have already look at it , but I figure I should mention it any way. Did yyou look closely at your rag joint. If it is worn out you can get a lot of slop. I just replaced mine on my truck. They want a lot for them for a new one. They make a replacement kit you can get at parts place like autozone. I bought to of them because they use two diferent size studs in the kit. The orginal has two of the fat studs. You will need your old rag joint. I had to grind off the studs on the orginal rag joint.
