I want to buy a new fuel pump for my 1950 F3 V8. I have some questions.
In an online parts catalog the pumps are different between 1950 and 1951. I had planned to buy a dual diaphragm pump to help my windshield wiper motor. They seem to be only available for the 1951 and later. I saw on one forum that the fuel inlet and outlets are different sizes, with the 1951 and later the smaller size.
Is the aluminum stand, that the pump bolts to, a different height to accommodate the dual diaphragm? If so that would mean the push rod would be longer too.
Any help appreciated. Thanks, 41505379
Welcome to FTE! Always good to see another F3 on board. When you get a chance post some pics of your truck so we can see what you're working on. Let us know if you need some help with the pic posting process. What part of the country are you from?

Rob, I am in west St. Louis County, Missouri. I did manage to get a pic of my truck someplace but not showing up on my forum pages.
We get to southern Illinois frequently to a place between Mount Vernon and Dubois. I suppose you live farther north than that.
I bought my truck in 1983 and drove it 2 miles home. I took it down to the frame and finally got it on the road in maybe 1995. It is all original with V-8 and 4 speed. It has a restored grain bed. We do haul things occasionally like 4 full loads of firewood this winter. We protect the bed with cardboard though. I don't know how to get a picture of the truck to show when I reply to a thread. Pat
Hey 415,
Your pic shows up in your "garage" - Good to see another '50 on here!
The easiest way to post pics is to join the site & then you just click on the paperclip icon & browse your harddrive & post directly from there.

Pat, what a great looking F3 stakebed! I hope mine ends up that nice. I'd like to see more pics of how the rack was constructed. I like the height. What tires are you running & did you do the rear axle conversion for a better ratio?
I'm in Bloomington/Normal. We're hosting the first ever "Flatlander Truckfest" May 18-19 for regulars here on the FTE 48-56 board. You'd be welcome to drive up.
