If its stock EGT's should be okay know matter what you tow. You need a code reader to tell you what is happening. All above are good starting points. Boost would be my guest also. Not a problem, you want it. Keep the air filter clean, run good oil and fuel and enjoy yourself.
Understood. I couldn't afford to sell my truck now if I wanted to. Over the last 18 months, I've got about $16K of work and mods into it, on top of the $16K purchase price in Summer, 2011. Clean Retail on it right now is probably $15K.
However, I did that in lieu of purchasing a newer truck at $40K to $60K. As long as some joker doesn't total it out from under me, I'm money ahead, though.
Guess it depends on how long you plan on keeping it as to how much or how little you want to continue pouring into it. Me? Starting a couple months ago, my wife and I are full-timing in our fiver, so I plan on keeping my truck as long as I can.
My whole problem with modding mine, is I am starting to need a crewcab. If I would have figured I needed a crewcab over a supercab 7 years ago when I bought the truck, well this thread would be more along the lines of which mods I should all get to bring the truck up over 400 horse haha.
Alas not the case. i dont wanna get rid of my truck, its been the best truck ive ever had, but sometimes ya gotta upgrade I spose lol.
Dont have a code reader to get them, Ill try and borrow one for the next time for when I tow. Makes it tricky when it goes away after a few minutes. Most places when im towing and it comes on, by the time I would get to a safe place to pull over to check the cel, it would all ready have gone away.
