Question Push Rod length

I helped rebuild my 360 last summer and the particulars are: block bored .30 over, new pistons, old connecting rods, crank did not need grinding, heads gone thru, new springs 4 new valves new, valve seats, I think heads not decked, old pushrods, new cam and lifters. I took the stripped down block in to the machinest with the parts and he did the rest except for putting it together.
My question is should my old pushrods spin like a chibby or because they are solid does it matter if some don't. I realize the oil gets up to the top thru the rocker shaft. The push rods went in the same order that they came out.

Kevin, your stock pushrods will be fine as long as the block decks and heads have not been milled alot. Even if the heads have .015-.020, off you should be okay. The factory assembled your engine with steel shim head gaskets (.017 ) and your new composition gaskets are .035-.041 thick, right ? So even if you had a light mill, you're still okay. If your valvestem assembled height is correct, you should have no problems. DF
