exhaust stud problem years

Nope, any year on the 5.4 and 6.8 will have stud problems. I have a broken stud on my 05. Can't tell through the sound though. Any metal like that rusts, and on top of hearing and cooling cycles its gonna be a problem.

I just put money down today on an 09 F450 and the studs had that golden color of heated stainless. The nuts were rusted but the studs looked clean. 117K on the truck. I would think that Ford went to SS at the factory after making them available for replacement studs.

That is also my observation. For that reason, I started to put a dab of hi-temp grease on each nut to retard corrosion.
