Part?

Hi does anyone know what part this is I circled in red. It's a bushing that seems to not be there anymore the whole part moves freely. Also would this cause a front end clunk I've noticed a clunk when turning slowly. The truck is a 97 f350 7.3 power stroke. Thanks for the help.

Yea ill try and get a better pic. I took it further away so someone could see the whole part I was talking about. Know of a good front end diagram I can look at. Can't seem to find a good one.

Hard to tell but it looks like the TTB pivot bushing, that will make all sorts of noise when it goes bad. Just replaced both of mine and damn what a difference! Drives like a new truck between new radius arm and pivot bushings, and new tires.

One of mine was so worn out that the metal insert had eaten through the rubber, then thru the steel outer shell, and was eating it's way into the axle beam. I just used my trusty Lincoln to rebuild the metal up in that area, then put the Dremel to it and got it back to perfectly round.

Drop the axle out, way easier than working under the truck. Smash the old ones out with a chisel and a BFH, and use a balljoint press to install the new ones. I tried installing with a hammer and it sucks, was worried I'd screw the bushing up. Other side I borrowed a ball joint press... much better.

I didn't have anything to flare the back of the bushings out like the factory does, so I just tack welded them to the axle beams.

I do not think the F350 got the TTB. I think he has a Dana 60, but I could be wrong.

It's the track bar bushing. F350 has solid front axle, Dana60.

Things are much easier to keep in order up in the Excursion part of the forum, as we only have 5 model years to memorize.
