I installed a USA ported housing about 2 weeks ago and lost some significant boost, went from 30 down to 22. great news is no surge and sounds awesome. but im on spring break and got a chance to take her back apart and retighten everything down and make sure the spyeder and turbo are aligned correctly and checked the o-rings. everything looked great! got it back together tightened everything down real good (everysingle IC clamp, exhaust clamp, turbo clamp) every clamp i could find got tightened till it felt good.
went for a ride and still 22 psi. . . what could possibly be causing this?

That's a stock wastegate setting. You mounted the old wastegate control, or a new one? Any changes to the red line?
You had to pop the "jesus clip" off the wastegate arm right? Is it possible the arm unscrewed thus making the wastegate vent earlier? I'm not sure how to check a stock wastegate, I had a buddy install a big head for me. Most folks pull the clip and screw the arm in a certain number of turns. A search will surely yield a writeup on it.

no i actually couldnt even unscrew it if i tried, its pretty rusty and seized up
im maybe thinking that the wastegate could be partially stuck open? if massh it i jump right to 17 psi and then itll climb to 22 at about 60-65 mph and then it wont go any higher even at 100mph. my egts are high as well if that makes any difference in finding what it might be.
okay, went for a quick ride to get a little more specific with this. normal acceleration to 45 i get 0-1 psi of boost maybe 2 and this is in my hot tune from beans, cruising at 45-55 its 0psi, 60-65 i start seeing 1psi and then 70-80 i see around 2/3psi. if i floor it, it goes right to 17-18 and then will climb to 21/22psi at about 75 mph with foot to the floor. this is with the new ported housing.
before housing: 45mph i would see around 2psi cruising, 55-75 i would see between 3-6psi, 7-9psi between 80-90 cruising. i would floor it and it would go to about 25 psi then climb to 30 and hold at 30. this was also in the hot tune and with the stock housing.
subscribing. I recently installed the same housing but also a van turbo at the same time. My boost numbers didn't really change much at all from my stock turbo with stock housing. Sorry I'm no help, I am just curious so I am subsrcibing.

its all good, at first i thought there might be a slight change but nowhere near 8 psi, i figured maybe 2 or 3 psi of difference.
You gots a leak somewhere...
Im betting it IS your wastegate stuck slightly open.
To get it unstuck (the rod and the end) you could try a little used auto trans fluid on there.
That stuff is killer penetrating oil. Mix it 50/50 with acetone and its leages ahead of the best pen oil commercially available.
