I've shopped a little on amazon, searched these forums, every single post and can't really find a good answer except to find a welder or use the hoops II steps.
I've seen lots of the very simple hoops or similar steps but I don't want them on my truck. This is an ad from a local trade forum and someone figured a way to rig this to his truck. I called him, prior owner did it so he doesn't know what or how they got there. Fyi for future searchers, these links disappear over time but it's just a standard chrome hoope with rubber steps right below the body starting from front to the back of the door.
I'm really loving this link, I know they've got chrome or stainless versions. Not really loving the thought of putting any unneeded holes in the truck but I'm gonna wear out the seat and possibly the steering wheel from pulling my 250 lb butt up there and dragging it along the seat.
This is the step that came with my truck and i have seen a lot of them but only on highboys. Some original owners tell me they were a dealer installed item on these taller trucks. The passenger side step was missing when I bought it but after 12 years of searching I found a match at a junkyard in Portland, OR.
The step says 'Tedco' embossed on it, but I have been unable to upload the close-up picture of it.
the AMP steps are awesome! I still don't think they are $1200 awesome but my buddy has them on his '01 superdookie and I like them a lot. He LOVES them for the kids, wife, etc. getting into the truck, but then the no step look (which I agree is best).
Here's pics of them on a '78 crew. The guy wasn't 100% sure he liked them or was going to keep them and I'd love it if he didn't and sold them to me!
Yes! just like that. Is that step on a highboy by chance?
Old post, but I'm interested in the Tedco step - I have a driver's side (1976 250) but need a passenger side so my wife doesn't need a ladder Any source?
