ground cable on firewall

96 5.0 theres a cable thats bolted to the fire wall on the left side by the ac.. was told it might bolt up to the engine too but im clueless

It bolts to the upper intake.

any clue as to where? and what would it cause if its not hooked up?

Look at the image above as to where.
As long as you have a good body ground and engine ground it would not matter much.
But if someone only ground the frame this ground wire can burn in two when you try to crank the engine. You do not need the frame grounded anyway if you do not pull a trailer. The Big ground from the battery always goes to the engine block.
