I know that stock springs generally on these engines are set up for .490 lift. Now here's my question. If I stuck with stock springs the cam calls for .030 and .060 rocker shims for correct lash clearance. Would that give enough clearance on the spring? Or will I still need to swap springs. I'm brain farting right now. Also the lift of the new cam is .484/.510.
stock springs are not that great, especially old ones with a new cam. Spend the extra dough and do it right, with new matched springs compatible with the cam.
Believe me, you do not want broken springs, or valve float!
Oh I was deffinatly going to replace them, I was curious about the stock spring as I would like to use them with the cam for break in then swap in new. Now I've heard that you can run a big block chevy single spring on these engines. Any truth to that?
