ford 4.6 replacement

hello my 99 ford 4.6 blew up now im looking for a doner. theres a engine from a 04 explorer that is for sale near me will it work as a direct replacement or no?

As long as its a 2 valve and not 3 it should work. You will probably have to swap over the intake and exhaust manifolds and possibly the accesorys and pulleys.
