Hi guys. Went to the dealer for inpection and they said i had an open recall on it. After the truck stayed home overnight the next morning will not start. It was turning fine but it would not fire up. I open up the hood and i saw that they installed a jumbing hurners on the drivers side next to the fuse box. Removed it conected the original wire and the truck fire right up. Anybody with a simillar experiance? My truck 01F350XLT 7.3 189,000 miles all original including the owner!!!

Why would anyone go to a Dealer for an 'inspection'? Never leave your truck alone with any tech at a Dealership.
This 'recall' is not a 'recall' at all.... it is a jumper wire with a fuse that will pop if a leak happens in the master cylinder. It is not a 'fix' for the cylinder to stop it from leaking and then catching on fire.....it will pop the fuse if it leaks. Sounds like the 'Tech' did not install it right or it was a bad jumper wire/fuse to begin with. Why leave it over night? it took 2 seconds to do.
I was told I could not go into the bay area with my truck when I had this 'recall' done. I said give me the wire and mark me off the list... They said that 'they' had to install it to get paid and for me to be credited for having the 'recall' done. I said I will drive my truck in, I will watch the Tech and I will drive my truck out or give me the pig tail or if not **** off, because 'ford' was not fixing the problem at all, but side stepping respectability.
1) The jumper is not something you need, if you keep an eye on brake fluid leaks at the master cylinder.
2) Call the dealer and tell him what you did and why.
3) if he wants you to come back for a 'redo'..... do not leave him your truck. The tech can walk out to the drive way with a new pig tail and do it in one minute while you are watching him..
