I am in the midst of doing some engine stuff and wanted to know about my hpop cover. My engine is a late 04 build. 08/04
From what i can see it looks like the very back left bolt location might be an issue with retorquing it.
It also appears that the heat shield will be in the way if i try to remove the cover to replace the gasket and also getting a torque wrench on it. Am I being over cautious or just go for it?
Anyone have a location for the torque specs for said cover. Btw it is a 1 piece cast cover, so no stc fitting and only 1 gasket.
I believe the torque the spec for the eight cover bolts are 8 ft-lbs. if I recall correctly. Well, you can pretty much imagine how lightly tightened you need to go, to achieve 8 ft-lbs. which means common sense should prevail.
yeah time to break out the inch lb one my torque wrench goes from 10-75 ft/lbs. In regards to the cover, if that heat shield is in the way, can i just bend it out then back with no problems?
