I just got the 08 rear diff cover for my 03. The torque spec for the steel cover is 36 lb-ft. I started to tighten down the bolts on the aluminum cover and I started shaving down the washer so I'm pretty sure that the torque spec is different.
Does anybody know what the torque spec is for the 08 rear diff cover? My truck is sitting in the driveway and I have to drive it tonight.
Any help would be appreciated (the quicker the better, I've got to fill the chunk soon).
I think german torque would be sufficient, just make sure they are the same torque. All you really need to do is just make sure all the bolts are torqued to 15 pounds or so, just to squish the RTV down and fill the imperfections. 36# just might be enough to squish all the RTV out.....
