Here is my problem... Tomarow I am getting my timing set in, However when I was pulling my driver side valve cover off I broke the EGR pipe at my manifold! This happened when my buddy said "hey push on it a little to move it" followed by it sheering off! So at this critcal point and weather to deal with, does the EGR put out pressure or suck to read it. If I can patch this till spring it would greatly make my life easier. PLEASE HELP. I just need some 2nd thoughts on this by tomarow, otherwise i am going into engine triage to make this thing work till the weather warms up. My manifold is rusted to the max and I hope to mguiver a good flexible tube to last me about a month... Suggestions?
P.S. I have been posting alot pineing for my parts and laid off as a stay at home dad. Sorry if I flooded the market. New to the forum.
Post me at the thread I gave preferably but here to otherwise.
Just try to get the tube as close to sealing as possible. It will leak exhaust and the check engine light might come on but no long term damage will be done. Then when funds allow you will prob need to remove the manifold and heat the fitting with a torch to get it to move.
Ok good this timing chain has flush all my spare $ down the proverbial toilet. I was so bumbed last night I got all my parts coming in and put about 5 pounds of pressure on it and it popped right clean off. Probly a blessing in disguise. Just bad timing.
I bandaged the exhuast and it burn through. I am going to keep thinking on this one and get back on it. I will probly stop this thread and use the original one I started talking about my hesitation and noise. There should be a quick link in this thread.
