I got my headlights swapped but the turn signal sockets can't go into the housings. The old bulb socket thing is a 90 degree twist in and it would twist in if there was room for the socket to twist. The back of the housing has a blocky lumpy thing in the way and I need a straight in socket I guess. Any ideas guys?

Pictures, pictures, pictures please!
Lumpy thing really isn't going to get you much help. Honestly I can't help you because mine is not the same year and mine aren't 90 degree sockets nor were the upgraded lights I installed. But post up pictures of what you are asking - "this compared to this" type of thing and you will get a lot more responses.
I had a bunch, but lost them somehow since I put the front end back together. I'll see what I can find today and if I can't I'll take it back apart in the morning
These are the lights, the lower bulb and the little bulb are the ones that won't go in. You can see the little nubby thing in the pic. The sockets are just 90 degree angles and can't fit in the space.

Very funny! Turns out I did everything right. Stewart said it was the forum. And unless Apocalypse simply forgot to include a photo I would say the forum zapped him too.
Maybe "defending myself" was too strong a phrase......how about "trying to salvage a shred of dignity"? If there's any left?

Karl
I know.....I know.....
Ha Karl ya you get a pass on the upside down photo, especially with everyone picking on you about it in the X thread, that one looks like a mobile iphone issue.
Apocalypse going to stand by the prior comment for you though , I know you have had a lot of issues trying to get your front end right but your posts are sometimes really hard to understand and very vague. No offense just trying to help you get better answers by asking better questions.
Strange, I don't remember having any problems plugging my 03 sockets and bulbs into the 05 housings. Unless my headlights came with sockets and I just switched them over without even thinking much about it. I thought for sure the little one fit without any problems though.
I know I've been vague recently I've just been so frustrated with the swap I just couldn't find the energy to do anything. I'll take it apart this week and get pics, just not excited about messing with the truck again *sigh*

Hey, just curious, I can't help with the socket issue but can I ask what you think of the lights? That's a really inexpensive set. I've heard of lots of fitment issues with the aftermarket stuff. How did yours fit and align? Any issues with the fact that they are for 2005-2007?
I know the posting pics thing seems to be an issue but I'd love to see them installed if you get a chance.
