i have the original 3 on the tree. and i live in arizona with pretty good temps in summer, 120 +. figure the shroud will help and keep from grabbing anything in the blades.
This is not the good box its the cheap Nissan box takes alot more money to install...Note the 4 mounting holes and location of hoses...False advertising
well the one you say is good only has three mounting holes. maybe the stock box only has three holes, dont remember. im now looking at the borgenson box.
I believe the 4x4x2 needs another hole drilled and the frame stiffeners (on both sides). Look up the mod on CB, I believe they have a "stickie" on it. /OR/ their style may B called "Tech Article".
Jeff's site is pretty reliable (alto some'a the posters can B prudy rude). AND time & user tested (hundreds'a guys)!
Can U send back the fleebay if U pay shipping (cancel yer credit crd purchase, the co.s stand behind us all the time)?
i bought the borgenson off ebay. $400.00 free shipping and no core. the original would of been good but with the core = $450.00 well its not worth it. read a lot of good reviews on the borgenson.
found a guy that sell the whole power steering setup for 66-77 broncos, oem. box, pump, brackets, hoses, pulleys and even the little cooler, $500.00 + shipping.all oem and guaranteed to fit and be in good condition. bought it. i called o'reillys and they said $200.00 to rebuild the box, if ever needed. so i figure thats worth it. was going to go with the borgenson but on back order, + all the other stuff id have to get for the borgenson install was going to cost a small fortune. im pretty sure my old stock manual steering shaft isnt going to fit to the power steering box but cant find a picture of what the power steering setup used originally, thinking maybe a rag joint. anyone here put the oem power steering in there non power steering bronco.

Might be a good deal if its a good box and pump, If its bad pump or box then youd end up paying more to get it fixed then just buying something new or rebuilt, But as for the install yes youd need to add a rag joint or a U-joint about the same price...U joint will have a tighter feel then a rag joint.
its a smokin deal. cant get a rebuilt without having a core, or pay $450.00 core charge. checker said $200.00 to rebuild, if needed. and checker said they would only rebuild mine, has to be sent out. as for the pump, well i have a new pump. brackets and hoses, pulleys and even factory cooler, i remember having the cooler on a 70 country squire station wagon, now thats cool. if i had to have the pump rebuilt = $200.00, a borgenson joint = $80.00 so add it all up and im still under the $1000.00 for aftermarket kit and its oem. as for rebuilding the aftermarket ones, well same thing, must send it in. am going to have to get the power steering bracket adapter but thats $14.00. guess while im waiting for it to come, and it is guaranteed to be in good condition or money back, ill order the disc brake setup for the front. thinking about the power brake booster also but might not need it with the disc brakes. then i can drive it. and your right kobaltblue the u-joint will give a much better feel. i have both on my old ****** jeep, rag joint at box and borgenson joint to join it to the steering shaft up top. feels fine to me but done think ill have to go to such extremes with this. worse case they told me i might need two joints because the box should be shorter but i think it would be longer, find out when i get it. if i need two joints then ill just get the whole shaft kit, 2 joints = $160.00, whole shaft kit = $200.00. $40.00 more would be worth it. looking forward to installing it. i only have 31" tires so it should be fine, but i also have a set of 33" sitting on my jeep i could also try and see how it feels. yeah its a adventure.
I put the '77 on my 6 cyl. Had 2 make a bracket & use the lower shaft for the '70's.
If I could put up a pic (I have 1 of the pump mod) I'd show ya. Lots cheeper.
i ordered the adapter to mount the stock ford pump, $14.00. ive seen kits for mounting power steering on the six cylinder. so you used the stock power steering pump on your chrisful, the ford one that is. what ever it ends up costing ill get it done. cheaper is always better. at least with the disc brake kit you get everything new. at the junk yard prices, plus trying to find the stuff, it just make sense to do all that work to save a couple bucks. by the time you get rebuild calipers and new shoes, have the spindles turned, brake lines. well 15 years ago you could do it for really cheap. the last post i read about brakes the guy spent close to $300.00, so he saved $200.00. not worth it. but power steering is worth what ever it takes.
