Flasher location

Well i think its the flasher, i put led's in my truck and they flashed fast for a while. I didnt really care cause i thought it looked kinda cool, well anyway my left side dosent flash anymore and i bought a new flasher i just cant seem to find it. Anybody know where it might be?

It is in the center of the dash. Above the floor hump and below the radio. A select few with VERY skinny arms have been able to contort themselves enough to get it out without pulling the radio and dash, but the rest of us have had to take the dash out. It is actually quite easy to take the dash out...

Look up some of the LED threads in the Excursion forums. Lots of pics of where it is at.

The fast flash is due to the low current draw of the LED's. The truck thinks you have a burned out light on that side hencing the quick flash. A resistor installed on the wire would solve the quick flash problem. As for the no flash at all......I would start at on of the wires at the light to confirm power is not there and work my way to the flasher.

Try a heavy duty electronic flasher. It flashes steady by design, not load.

One bolt to remove the vent tube above the accelerator pedal near the firewall and you can reach up to replace the flasher with any size arm. Takes just a few minutes, rather than removing the radio / dash.
