Well the answer to this is probably pretty obviose but I want to make sure I get it right. What kind of oil does the transmission and rear end take? Most people say 80-90 but some people say 140. And how much does the tranmisson take? It's a standard 4 speed 4 wheel drive transmission with a 390 and 4.10 rear end.
And also where do I hook up the postive wire for a voltmeter? I read some places said the fuse box some say the ignition but theres like 20 differant wires and some say the cilinoid

for a aftermarket gauge? if so, anywhere that has a "switched" 12v source. should be easy to find under the dash.
i have a 71 390 np435 4 speed 4x4 i use 85-140 in all of my transmission and transfur case then i use 80-90 or something close to that for the rear and front with lockers because they have less gears and more of the gear is siting in the fluid
it really is what you do with the truck i trail ride it so i like the heavy oil sticking to more of the gear longer but it is a good idea not to push it on a cold start where if you are mudding it may better to have a liter oil for the higher rpms when you gun it though
