Head gasket question

A guy came by to look at my 2003 v10 today. While he was looking at the engine he popped the oil cap and pointed out some whitish film on the inside of the cap. He told me this means it may need a head gasket.

Now it never burns oil or smokes, however I wanted to ask your opinions on this. My engine has been great with no problems but I had never heard this before.

Is this a telltale sign of issues on the horizon? Or was he just looking to get some $ taken off the asking price?

If you are not losing any fluids I would say more than likely it is just condensation on the cap and nothing to worry about

Every Ford I have owned or worked on from 99+ does this, its from taking short trips in the winter under 5 miles. Wipe it off and you have nothing to worry about. The oil fill neck sits above the engine slightly allowing is to be slightly cooler than the motor hence where the condensation comes from. Again that guy is wrong, completely normal.

Thank you. I figured it was ok because I have had 0 oil or coolant issues. But it is good to know if he comes back with an offer.
