Can someone help me?
What happens is it will idle for a few minutes, and then cut off. It doesn't choke out and die, mind you, but it just cuts off as if I've turned off the ignition. If it DOESN'T die when it's in idle, it usually will do so almost immediately after I try to put it into reverse or drive. Again, it doesn't choke out, just shuts off.. and each time after it shuts off, it takes two or three attempts to start the engine again.. it's cranks but wont turn over.
I've replaced spark plugs, spark plug wires, fuel filter, distributor cap, fuel pressure regulator, and the transmission mount (it clangs when I take my foot off of the gas, or put my foot back down onto the gas pedal.. also, sometimes it takes a LONG time for it to hit 4th gear.. sometimes does it at 35mph, sometimes not til 40mph.. not sure if two problems are related)
I'm hearing now from people who know more than me that it could be one of three things: Fuel pump, Transmission torque converter solenoid (which was told to me could be the reason it cuts out when I throw it into gear) or it could be the ignition switch..
Anyone have any experiences with this, or know someone who has? Any advice would be greatly appreciated..
Thanks!
You need to check the computer for codes. there is no check engine light, so you may or may not have codes.

And the AOD is a completely mechanical transmission, no solenoid.
