Tire wear question

Hi im new here and was looking for some info i bought a 02 250 2 months ago love the truck drives great for 130000 miles but the front left steer is making alot of noise and wearing on the inside edge and like its skipping every couple inches so very noisy thought maybe ball joints but a buddy say tire is out of balance truck does not pull left or right and drives straight can you help thanks

Noise could be a loose caliper. I'd imagine ball joint wear would be consistent around the tire, Ive never seen skipping wear.

2X or 4X4? Can you feel any vibration in the steering wheel? If no vibration, then rotate the tires, with new balancing and get the alignment checked ASAP. The noise sounds like wheel bearings or hub (if 4X) going bad. Intermitant wear can be caused by bad (weak) shocks allowing tire to bounce off the pavement while driving. With 130000 miles new shocks would be reasonable and sound investment toward handling and safety.
