rich beyond all rational belief only when i first started it though
That sounds to me like injector(s) leaking down. This can be confirmed by oil analysis (like Blackstone Labs, they'll find fuel in the oil) or by sending the batch of them out to one of the many services. Might not be the same ones that are ticking.
i knew it,see that day the plugs had been out of the block for a few hours (went to exchange them) so without the pressure inside the cylinder holding the fuel back it was allowed to leak down im gonna run out and find that missfireing cylinder or cylinders make sure they are in fact getting spark and thatll tell me which injector it is
heres what i think happened: a few weeks ago, my front fuel pump started to fail, if you hard accelerated it would stumble, sputter, buck and stall, i had to drive it like that for about a week, in that time i think that because the fuel injectors were being starved of fuel it damaged the aging injectors and their seals in one or more of the cylinders
I checked the vacuum to see if i had a manifold leak, it checked out
I pulled wires one by one whilst the truck was running, everytime i did the motors attitude changed, indicating its not an ignition miss
the EGR valve and related components are all functioning properly
both fuel pumps are new
all the plug wires are separated so there is no chance of a cross fire situation
all ignition components are new
distributor rebuilt a year ago
brand new timing chain
the only other possibilities are a bad injector/injectors, a bad piston ring (not possible, no blue smoke at all, as a matter of fact no smoke whatsoever) like i said the injectors are ticking audibly, from what i understand they are suppose to tick, but your only suppose to be able to hear them ticking via a mechanics stethoscope, these are loud and i know its not a bad lifter or bent rod as i said this sound is more akin to a ticking clock not the metal on metal ticking of a worn lifter or bent rod 8 new injectors are on the way
