I know on the GM`s there are some people that have setup the traction control to do just this, it would be off all the time and on when you press the button. I don`t know how it is done. maybe you would have to do the ultimate and............"gulp" search a GM forum to find an answer!

The speaker and module on the Ex are located back in the right rear compartment with the rear HVAC and jack.

My recollection from the wiring diagram is that the dash-switch
interrupts power to the rear sensor/speaker when activated.
Thus, I believe you could put another switch in to "the" wire
that runs from the dash-switch to the rear and "semi-permanently"
interrupt that voltage so it stays "off".
I'll check the wiring diagram if I get time tonight.
But, it would be nice to have another switch up-front for this
vs. having to go to the rear and flip a switch.

There has to be the wire that turns it on when you put it in reverse if you tapped that to a switch then at least you could turn the switch on and fool the system to think you were always in reverse then just one button click would disable it until you turned the switch off. Kind of like fooling your nav/dvd system into working all the time.

I think it's easier to look @ the dash-mounted connector pinout.
If I recall, it's an 6 or 8 pin connector, but only 4 or 5 wires.
One is power, the other is the "shut up" signal.
If you hookup the switch to the "power" circuilt the B/U
sensors will ALWAYS think you are in drive.
I think it's the other end of PIN 6, ckt: 1436
I believe, if you add a switch to disconnect this wire,
the b/u sensors will remain off..
